Milla Jovovich (born on December 17, 1975) is an American supermodel, actress, musician, singer, and fashion designer.

Jovovich has been described by Paul W.S. Anderson, director of her film Resident Evil, as a "rare combination of a good actress who could kick ass and look beautiful doing it." Music channel VH1 has referred to her as the "reigning queen of kick-butt".

Family and Early life: Jovovich (pronounced "Yo-vo-vitch") was born in Kiev, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union to Bogdan Jovovic, a Serbian medical doctor, and Galina Jovovich (Galina Logivina), a Soviet actress.

In 1981, when Milla was five years old, her family had to leave the Soviet Union for political reasons and move to London; they subsequently lived in Sacramento, California, USA. Seven months later, they settled in Los Angeles, California. She also has a brother named Marco Jovovich born in 1988.

Careers:
At the age of eleven, she was spotted by photographer Richard Avedon who featured her in Revlon's "Most Unforgettable Women in the World" advertisements and signed her first professional modeling contract in 1988.Her modeling led the way to her acting career, her first film role was also in 1988, in the romance thriller Two Moon Junction.

Aside from modeling and acting, Milla is also in the music industry. Milla released "The Divine Comedy" in 1994, which she tells is inspired by her love of "elves and magic trees", she wrote the lyrics for the songs at the age of 15 and recorded the album when she was 16 years of age.

Fashion savvy Milla teamed up with fellow model Carmen Hawk in 2003 and launched their own line of clothing, Jovovich-Hawk. In September 2005, they opened a showroom in Greenwich Village, New York City. Jovovich-Hawk was a finalist for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award in November 2006.

Motherhood:

Actress Milla Jovovich, 31, and her fiancé, director Paul W.S. Anderson, 42, welcomed their first child, daughter Ever Gabo Anderson, last November 3, 2007, Saturday morning at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, a day before Milla's due date.

Milla explains the name of her baby, Ever Gabo Anderson. She says that since Paul Anderson has Scottish blood, they wanted to give their child a name that reflected her 'Celtic' roots, and Gabo part is a mixture of her parents names. The first two letters are after her moms first name Galina and the last two letters are after her dad's first name, Bogie. She has posted pictures of her and her baby on her official website MillaJ.com
