A true beginning to the caped crusader. Christopher Nolan has found his niche, and I really hope he continues to direct the new Batman series of movies.

Batman Begins was quite a bit better than the original Batman movies for the fact that the actors were better, the story was better and it actually had some unexpected twists. The first four movies were completely predictable, this one left you thinking at some parts.

Forget Tim Burtonīs dark fantasies and Joel Schumacherīs gay extravaganza.Batman Begins is for me the best Bat-Movie ever made and iīm so proud of this movie because iīm a Batman fan and this is how he should be portrayed in the big screen.Iīm happy for the choice of Christian Bale for the role.I mean,he doesnīt play Batman. He IS Batman and he is a lot better than Michael Keaton. Bale plays both Batman and Bruce Wayne perfectly and thereīs no doubt that he īs the responsible for bringing my hero back..I also loved the cast(Michael Caine,Liam Neeson,Gary Oldman),the brilliant script by David Goyer and the amazing action. But one thing I didnīt like is Katie Holmes. She was so lame.I want to thank Christopher Nolan for making a real Batman movie for all the Bat-Maniacs around and has become a masterpiece like the Dark Knight .Welcome back,Batman.I truly missed you.

The people in charge of making Batman into films have finally figured it out. After four modern batman films that run the gambit from mediocre to just plain terrible, Batman Begins is the film fans of the bat have been waiting for. The film gave a wonderful origin story but was still packed with all the action and drama we love Batman for. Christian Bale?s portrayal of Bruce Wayne was spot on. I also loved the choice of Scarecrow as the villain (yes I realize Raz was main villain) from both a writing and casting stand point. To stay away from the ?big five? Batman villains gave the story of Bruce Wayne a chance to develop on it own. Also without a huge name playing the scarecrow the preconceptions about any actor also allowed the character to stand on its own. All I can really say is I loved this film and think any comic book fan would as well. But the films attraction does not stop there for those that know nothing of comic books or Batman it makes a fine action film to be enjoyed by all.

I just watched this for the second time to prepare myself for the newest installment. I was surprised by how little I remembered. Wonderfully dark without taking all the joy out of it.

This was the worst movie in the Batman saga. It takes 3/4 of the movie to actually begin and the villan is wiped out almost instantly. I don't feel so bad about George Clooney playing Batman anymore.

Never a superhero movie has been this intelligent and entertaining at the same time. This movie proves that putting an old saga to life sometimes happens to be useful - and great. I still can't believe that Christopher Nolan managed to make this -nearly perfect - film with old superhero stuff.

Every actors in Batman Begins - perhaps except Katie Holmes - were perfect in their role, especially Christian Bale, who did a brilliant job. Only the face Gary Oldman made while driving Batman's car was worth watching the movie.

With his marvelous talents (screenplay writing, directing), Christopher Nolan picked up an impossible task and made it one of the surprisingly best movies of the last years.

    Bravo.

Words almost cannot describe how much I loved this movie. I did not expect it to be as good as it was. I think Bale plays Bruce Wayne very well throughout the whole movie. He needs to work on the Batman voice but overall it was very well done!

Great casting, great acting, good script. Almost flawless, it's a classic. A brilliant start to a new Batman franchise. I loved this film when it came out and I still do. Those who haven't seen it yet should definitely watch it, preferrably before they go see The Dark Knight.

It's not perfect (mainly bcz the chemistery between Holmes and Bale is stale) but certainly worthy of carrying the franchise. Quite a treat!

This movie is riddled with a stupid main story and the actual interesting story of how Batman came to be. Katie Holmes doesn't help either.

Christian Bale did a fantastic job as the new Batman (besides the fact that his Batman voice can get really annoying). Brilliant movie with nothing really that bad about the movie.

How does one man change the world? It's a question that haunts Bruce Wayne like the specter of his parents, gunned down before his eyes in the streets of Gotham on a night that changed his life forever. Tormented by guilt and anger, battling the demons that feed his desire for revenge and his need to honor his parents' altruistic legacy, the disillusioned industrial heir vanished from Gotham and secretly travels the world, seeking the means to fight injustice and turn fear against those who prey on the fearful. In his quest to elucidate himself in the ways of the criminal mind, Bruce is mentored by a mysterious man called Ducard in the mastery of the physical and mental disciplines that will empower him to fight the evil he has vowed to destroy. He soon finds himself the target of recruiting efforts by the League of Shadows, a powerful, subversive vigilante group headed by enigmatic leader Ra's al Ghul. Bruce returns to Gotham to find the city devoured by rampant crime and corruption. Wayne Enterprises, his family's former bastion of philanthropic business ideals, now rests in the hands of CEO Richard Earle, a man more concerned with taking the company public than serving the public good. Meanwhile, Bruce's close childhood friend Rachel Dawes, now an Assistant District Attorney, can't secure a conviction of the city's most notorious criminals because the justice system has been so deeply polluted by scum like crime boss Carmine Falcone. It doesn't help that prominent Gotham psychiatrist Dr. Jonathan Crane bolsters insanity defenses for Falcone's thugs in exchange for nefarious favors that serve his own devious agenda. With the help of his trusted butler Alfred, detective Jim Gordon--one of the few good cops on the Gotham police force--and Lucius Fox, his ally at the Wayne Enterprises' Applied Sciences division, Bruce Wayne unleashes his awe-inspiring alter-ego: Batman, a masked crusader who uses strength, intellect and an array of high tech weaponry to fight the sinister forces that threaten to destroy the city.

With its outstanding cinematography, a score full of tension, and a revamped image of Batman, Christopher Nolan saves the Dark Knight's ass from looking like a laughingstock after that "Batman and Robin" travesty.

Nolan's first shot at Batman is a good one. Feels most like the Batman of the modern age, less like the recent campy attempts and Burton's classic gothic ones. Nolan truly understands the character. I like the use of fan favorite villains Ra's and Scarecrow.

Bale's Batman voice is really the most annoying part of the movie and the biggest black mark. It is true to the way it is described in the books, but there has to be a better way to do it. Unfortunately, he carries it into The Dark Knight too. Hopefully he'll lose it in the next one, although I think it's here to stay.

I used to like the Tim Burton Batman films... This new take is so good that I can't stand to look at them anymore. Even the cred of the animated series takes a tiny hit from the awesomness of Christopher Nolan's Batman-iverse.

Character development is the primary requiremnt for any first installment of a superhero franchise. Batman Begins does a great job depicting the origins of Batman developing the complexity of his character in details providing it with depth that is rare in movies of this kind.

Highly entertaining re-invention of the 'Batman' franchise. My only negative comment is the miscasting of Katie Holmes.

This film sucked! And The Dark Knight probably will too. Bring back Mr.Burton you fools!! The first hour is good, but the Batman action scenes in this film were so overly homosexual, I didn't know whether to throw up or laugh. A disaster of a film as far as this old school Batman fan is concerned. This is the second worst Batman film ever made.

Batman: The Movie (1966) 3 stars

    Batman (1989) - 4 and a half stars

    Batman Returns - 3 stars

Batman Forever - 2 and a half stars

    Batman & Robin - 1 and a half stars

    Batman Begins - 2 stars

The last batman movies seemed to have been adapted from the cartoon shows on WB Kids. This version of Batman however, & let me just say this is the best version, takes on a realism that other comic book movies don't have. Or perhaps it is the fact that the filmmakers weren't targeting child audiences. Whatever the reason, this movie rocks!!!

    ''Are you ready to begin?''

Like it's title, the beginning truly is the masterpiece. Liam Neeson & Christian Bale show how deep a man with a dark side that needs a destiny can be.

DC Comics was, for a long time, criticized about not starting an Ultimate comics line of their own when Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man and Ultimate X-Men became huge hits. Ironically, however, this movie is everything an Ultimate Batman would have to have been: a perfect distillation of the character's origins and motivations, but set in a contemporary timeline and featuring streamlined continuity (such as the paired-down portrayals of Ra's Al Ghul and Scarecrow). And yes, I am a massive geek.

Now if only Warner Brothers would follow this example with the rest of the characters in the DCU for their own feature film endeavors!
