Clerks II:**** Clerks II is a strong and poignant retelling of the story of when two slackers grow into adulthood. In many ways this is writer/director Kevin Smith's most adult film in that we see four characters that we've grown up with over the past 12 years finally grow themselves. It opens on the final day of work for Dante who is finally getting up and out of Jersey with his fiancé, leaving Randal figuratively alone at Mooby's. Randal hasn't changed much over the past years, and in many cases neither has Dante. Randal still wrestles with the customers in pitiful pop culture debates, among them whether the LOTR trilogy is better than the Star Wars trilogy, but this time around he has a new foil in a 19 year old gamer-geek named Elias. The banter between these two is really funny especially when Randal tells him what he has planned for Dante's departure gift (but you'll have to see the flick to find out what that is because it is too gross for me even to write). After a short stint in re-hab Jay and Silent Bob have found solace in the Lord but this doesn't stop them from the dispensing with the drugs. Its odd to find that in the past decade it is Jay and Silent Bob that have changed the most, true they still are up to their perverse antics such as ass rubbing on the window and the disturbing recreation of "The Silence of the Lambs" dance but they have grown more sensitive to other people's emotions and needs, especially Jay. I haven't mentioned Rosario Dawson, who gives a very charming performance as the clerks' boss. She brings a lot of presence to a slightly underdeveloped character. But it is Jeff Anderson, Randal, that deserves the full attention this time around. He gives an award worthy performance and delivers it with an astonishing amount of sympathy. He's loosing his best friend which, though he'd never show it, absolutely devastates him. The last 20 minutes are really tear jerking, I know I was in tears and couldn't stop the flow. This film sort of keeps to the feel Smith created with Chasing Amy and Jersey Girl in that they lay the drama on thick and it almost works better than the comedy, an oddity for Smith proving he too has grown as a writer. It isn't all drama though you do get great comedic scenes such as, my favorite, the "porch monkey" scene. I nearly had laughing tears during it. This is probably Smith's best looking film elevating it to the quality one would get whilst watching a really good episode of television. The camera even moves! And a neat little digital effect is shown at the beginning where the clerks' world seamlessly transforms from black and white to color, I was shocked because I didn't even realize it was happening. This is one of Smith's best films and one of the year's best. I give it a high recommendation but I ask that you stick with it a little while because it moves at a slower pace then any of the other Jersey Chronicles, it may take a bit of getting used to for some, but this is a film that can not be missed.

I love Kevin Smith movies, and I loved Clerks, so this movie was already in high regards to begin with in my book. While sequels rarely are as good as the original I would have to say that in this case it was as good. LOVED THE DONKEY SHOW SCENE.

I really liked this film. Its great. It was great. Elias was a wonderful edition. Randall was at his finest. The Dante story was very reminiscent of Clerks 1 (which Randall actually mentions lol). It was funny and great. Loved it.

While it is a creative step back for Kevin Smith, Clerks II takes the strengths of Jersey Girl and applies it to his winning formula of crude humor. The result is a hilarious and heartfelt raunchy comedy with a sweet core underneath. And really, what other movie can boast a character believably figuring out his love life while hardcore "inter-species erotica" takes place in the background?

Was really worried about this film as i loved the first film and that had been what had given me my love of Kevin Smith films. Thankfully I had nothing to worry about as this topped it on all levels... Well done Kevin Smith who managed something rarely done, produced a sequel that improves on the first film, thank u!!!

This is a hillarious movie. Jay finally made some since, and Silent Bob finally had nothing to say that would help the moment. Great movie.

    Go Kevin Smith.

Packs a lot more heart and weight than the original Clerks but this is also kind of offset by the out of place nature of the film's frank irreverent conversational humor. Both halves of the movie worked really well but they never really converged at any point.

Randall and Dante are at it again set 10 years after the original Clerks movie Dante Hicks and Randall Graves are now working at Mooby's a fast food restaurant with more laughs and more trouble and more of Jay and Silent Bob

This movie i can assure you is one of the best you'll find that's apart of view askew films with more gags than the first this film with make laugh your lungs out in one scene and cry your heart out in the next!!! if you love Randall and Dante if you have a good sense of humour if you love view askew films if you love the legendary Jay and Silent Bob watch this movie!!!

Even though I haven't seen the first one yet, I thought this movie rocked out loud. A hilarious movie that I'm sure is better than the first one. Jay and Silent Bob are what make this movie so funny. Without them, this would be a waste of time.

Most sequals don't live up to the hype, but this one does. It was a very nice movie that brought closer to the lives of Dante and Randal

This film can only be described as seeing old friends again. Smith brings us back to the good ol' days with this follow-up, going back to his rapid-fire dick jokes style of humor. The ending reminds the viewer of a better time when all they cared about was having a good time with their friends; the ending really yanks your heartstrings. The character development seems very real. It doesn't take a thinking man to see that the Quick Stop represents something more, and also that moving to Florida represents something more. Aside from this film's sentimental value, it's hilarious as well.

A worth sequel. I can't say I'm a fan of Kevin Smith's movies after the original; some of been alright, some have been awful. But this movie has some of the spirit of the first as well as some poignant moments.

Não se compara ao primeiro, tinha muito mais estilo e originalidade, Clerks II pegou pesado nos clichês, afina estamos falando de uma sequência de um filme que passou à 12 anos, já esperava algo assim

of course that who liked this film doesnt like the first one! Kevin Smith totally lost it on this one, none stop and too much jokes about a theme that was not even funny and predictable (who saw chasing amy would see that is not a thing that kevin smith do)...

The cast of offbeat misfit characters dish out a mind bending tale of drama, comedy, romance, and all out absurdity. Everyone’s favorite jersey boys the drug dealin duo Jay and Silent Bob are back, in the sequel to their big screen debut. Jay and Bob haven’t missed a beat and are back chillin in full swing. If you’re looking for a comedy that will remind you that even though your life may suck, there are plenty of other unlucky bastards that suffer just as bad if not worse and through it all still manage to get some enjoyment, then look no further. You will soon forget about the terrible day you had and learn to laugh at life’s awkwardness. The jokes are delivered fantastically and keep rolling through out the film constantly knocking the audience back with outlandish behavior. Like a disturbingly erotic donkey show, you won’t be able to turn away or forget what you witness, and more importantly you won’t want to forget.
    Goodbye horses.

For all the geeks, stoners, racists, dropouts, wannabes, perverts, and drunkards.. Not to mention a couple other hundred types of creatures that make the world go round, this movie is just for you my friends. Clerks 2 turns vulgarity and obscenity into an art form reaching new heights of verbal and visual creativity. It's so offensive at times that you can't possibly take it seriously. if you wish you could go back and relive your high school or college experience jackassing around with your best buds, then your gonna like what you see here.

This was one of the best movies of 2006 by far. It's a pure classic. Randal, Dante, Jay & Silent Bob are all back for one last time (or are they?) in what could be the final chapter in the View Askew universe. It's an instant classic. It is a must see for fans of Clerks and Jay & Silent Bob Strke Back, Star Wars fans, Lord of the Rings fans, and anybody who just wants to have a flat-out good time. It's hilarious and heart warming at the same time. Check this movie out because you'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll have a great time and you won't regret seeing it. Clerks 2 gets a 10/10!
