What a smart kid. I just think this is one of the funniest movie. It's probably nice to get away from school. But hey I rather be in school.

A high school senior Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) decides to skip school for a day to pretend to be sick. He convinces his nervous hypochondriac friend Cameron (Alan Ruck) to take his father's 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California for their day off to get the girl named Sloane (Mia Sara) @ their school.

I really didn'tlike this film, don't understand its status. Ferris Bueller is not clever, funny or cool in the slightest. Why is a pretty girl like Mia Sara staying with him? Why is alan Ruck friends with him? But I looove the Charlie Sheen cameo. Could've done with more of that.

I think it should've been called Ferris Bueller's day on, cuz it was everything he wanted to do, and that Cameron, huh, huh.

I was so incredibly pleasantly surprised by this movie. I watched it only because of its popularity. I like to watch all the classics, even though more often than not, I dont care for them half as much as most ppl. But, I like to know what ppl are talking about. I thought Ferris Bueller would be just another 80s teen movie. Was I ever wrong! This movie is so much fun, and I am actually a little sad that I didnt watch it a long time ago. Ferris is an incredible character. You gotta love him.

As far as 80s teen movies go..this is probably one of my favourites. Everything just fits. It's humerous, yet with that melancholic air of how fucked up it is to be a teenager. It's all there - and Charlie Sheen is..just hot.

It really can't be that difficult. John Hughes is still alive and someone in Hollywood must have a number or address for him. So, all they need to do is phone him up and say "Hey John, nobody in Hollywood understands adolescence better than you did, and every time we've tried to make a teen movie, we've failed. Sure, the world has changed in the last 20 years, but teenagers haven't, they still go through the same insecurities and dilemmas. Now, how about we give you a blank cheque, you write, direct and have final say - just come back! Please?" Seems simple enough.

an absolute 80's classic, but at the same time easily one of the most overrated films ever. dont get me wrong, its very good. but i am always dumbfounded at the amount of people i meet that say this is one of their 10 favorite films ever. its just a really good 80's portrayal of the cool high school kid that everyone wants to be, but its no masterpiece.

Been a while since I've seen this. Really a cute movie, I think. It's not very accurate with the stereotypes about school and very unrealistic regarding how much one kid can get away with.

Fun film, though ultimately rather devoid of meaning except for the lesson that Cameron learns at the end. That's not to say it isn't worth the time. Ferris stresses enjoying the time you have and the movie can fill that need.

Love it! Pivotal teen movie. Matthew Broderick, in the role we all know him best for, as the infamous Ferris Bueller! Very funny and definitely worth watching a few times- highly recommended if you have not seen it.

Ferris Bueller isn?t like us, which makes him all the more like us. He?s a high school student who can?t see wasting a gorgeous day taking a test on European socialism, so he ditches school. Taking a trip in a cool car with girlfriend Sloane and neurotic best friend Cameron to nearby Chicago for a day of fun and, later, reflection. Hot on their tail is Ferris?s nemesis, Edward Rooney a school administrator convinced that Ferris?s antics will undermine the entire student populace. This is a great movie filled with fun and humour.

WHY hasn't anyone in Hollywood tried to rip-off the formula for this comedy movie masterpiece?!

I mean for god sakes, even people who HATE all the films done by John Hughes seem to love this movie, and Matthew Broderick's face is about a mile wide on this poster, so you'd think the ass-hole writers and directors who appreciate this pile of soda poprocks puke would at LEAST emulate an awful B-movie version with a goatee, instead of chucking out the most rancid Jersey Girl and Gigli bile you could possibly torture out of a fella with rabies.

...Anyways, this thing is EXACTLY like his other starring role in War Games (specifically just because he had a new computer in the mid' 80's that he uses to further the plot to a varying significance) except billions of peoples lives aren't endangered by a fuck-face and his Short Circuit girlfriend. Instead he has a ménage à trois with her and his best friend... during the daytime... on weekday before graduation... and inevidibly missing school because of this. Thus the film title becomes clear!

Of course, the 1980's pop culture back then was full of censoreship and bullshit, so the 3-and-a-half hour endurance match is masked with symbolism, metaphors, and a moral to the story theme. You're supposed to assume that Bueller promises to marry Mia Sara, then runs off leaving her with embriotic twins, and so later she settles for Cameron, then they divorce and she takes his many hard-earned millions. The sister, however, is pissed throughout the film about Ferris's "many adventures" until meeting with Charlie Sheen, at which point she finally becomes comfortable with her sexuality....

I love this movie ALOT, it is one of the best 80s movies, I still like The Breakfast Club the best but Ferris Bueller's Day Off is my 2nd favorite best movie from the 80's. I love all of this movie, from the very start to the very end. Great acting all through out this movie and I still love to watch it. I had a great best friend like Ferris had in Cameron, but my bestest friend in the whole world died when we were teenagers, BUT HE IS STILL AND ALWAYS WILL BE MY BEST FRIEND FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!

This is one of the best teen flicks of the 80's. Alan Ruck stole the show as Cameron, as far as I'm concerned.
